Anti-Money-Laundering (AML) regulations are designed to prevent criminal activity such as fraud, money laundering and the funding of illegal activity through property transactions.
Because property sales involve large sums of money, estate agents are legally required to verify who is involved in a transaction and ensure checks are completed correctly.
